Farm Track Installation – Drainage and Ground Preparation

The first stage of this farm track project tackled waterlogged ground that had become boggy and difficult to access. Vehicles were sinking, getting stuck, and damaging the land, making effective drainage essential before constructing the track.

We carefully positioned the land drains at the lowest points of the surrounding ground to collect water naturally, excavating trenches to the required depth and setting the correct gradients to maintain a consistent flow away from the affected area. The drainage pipework was surrounded with suitable drainage aggregate and protected with a geotextile membrane to help prevent soil from clogging the system and support long-lasting performance.

This drainage work formed the first stage of the wider project, preparing the ground for a full farm track and more reliable vehicle access.
